    five

great. another movie to add to the list.

    20th century boys.

okay la. based on the mixed reviews that i found online, i was expecting the show to be a disappointment.
but then surprisingly, it was a lot better than i thought.

20th century boys is a manga adaptation. it's about this group of friends who wrote a book of prophecy about how and when the world will end, and that they will save the world from ending when they were in elementary school. but eventually, they ended up burying up the book and their items, vowing that they will dig them back up when the time comes for them to save the world.

20 years later, people began dying from a strange virus across the world, and the cult appeared, sporting a symbol that was familiar to all of them.

    blah blah blah..

not gonna spoil the story, but for me, i enjoyed the movie cos i've read the manga in anticipation of the movie already.
to those who haven't read the manga, it'll still be nice if they like to actually think, while watching the movie, instead of those action or chick flicks where they can just leave their brains behind.

the story will be a little messy at the start cos the story consists of a lot of characters.
not to spoil the movie, but to ask people to take note..

    - there will be a scene where someone takes a photo of the group.
the photo will be there for a second or two, but take a good look at the photo.
    something, or rather, someone's missing.

    - the people who dies might not necessarily end up being dead.

    - the huge thing that xxxx is standing on near the end of the show is not a robot, but rather an exhibit.
it is not stated nor shown explicitly in the show, so i think people who didn't know will assume that it's a robot.

    - the only one who can make prophecies for real is the old man. no one else.

kaes. all in all that should be enough for people who haven't watch to take note of the points in the movie.
the show is pretty long. 2hr+. but if you can, try to stay after the credits to watch the trailer for the sequel.

and yeah, i admit that the title of the movie is damn.. boring-ish. lol.
i prolly won't be interested in the movie if i didn't read the manga, actually. =x

and yeah, i do like the show, or else i wouldn't be blogging about it. LOL.
